the price to pay to go on holiday - 6 solid days without the internet. anyone missed me?
and also 6 days without msging! cause i didn't want my handphone bill to explode (unlike my not-so-smart cousin, samuel.)
haha, anyway, my nose simply dislikes the dry melbourne weather. i keep getting blocked nose! it's terrible.
Melbourne Trip 26/12 to 30/12
I arrived at 5am (melbourne time) at the airport! there's a 3hrs time difference. so i was wide awake at 2am (singapore time)! that's insane. haha, and i have to walk around the streets near the apartment and later tour around the city and parks?!? i was dead tired on the first day. slept at like aussie 8-9pm. do the maths, it is 5-6pm! wth.
and due to the time difference, there's like weird eating times!
Breakfast is at AUS 7am/SIN 4am! I'm supposed to be sleeping in my nice comfy mattress!
Lunch is at AUS 12pm/SIN 9am! my breakfast!
Dinner is at AUS 7pm/SIN 4pm! ah, tea break!
Supper is AUS 10pm/SIN 7pm! my normal dinner time!
haha, and i keep getting hungry before the next meals. luckily, i'm not strange, my cousins feel the same way. we keep having more in between meals. haha, needless to say, i have grown (not in length)! ): haha, throughout, we have truly feast! RICE BUBBLES. (: chips! marcoroni cheese! hotdogs! ham & cheese sandwiches! sweets! unheathy main meals! and not forgetting..

haha, hmmm, just got back from bbq at jansen's house! haha. hmmm, what a memorable christmas eve for me!
well, today i had a christmas lunch at yiyi's house! (: cold cuts (in other words, ham!) turkey (can never understand why people like to eat?) i finally could try the new pizza from pizza hut, jolly smtg. is it? it was nice anyways! (: cheese myself to death! haha, ribs! salad (is three leaves of lettuce counted?) mashed potato. garlic bread (drools at the numerous loaves! i want to eat them all) before i even start the lunch, oh man, i could feel the extra weight i'm gonna put on today! ):
caleb's really cute! he gave me a hug after giving me my present! (: he's adorable. haha, he still has a thing for trains. haha, would have played more with him, but got really tired. i wanted to sleep like immediately. i went to a quiet corner, hopefully to rest! but.. (thinking back, it's traumatic) wasn't it obvious i was tired?
ooohh, at jurong (location of yiyi's house), the thunderstorm was bad! lightning felt 10 feet away from me! and because of the bad weather, we didn't bring back the presents. cause we were afraid it might get wet! ): argh, anyway, my jeans and t-shirt got real wet! plus my shoes.. i need my jeans for tml (technically today)! so no choice, have to air it and dry them!
haha, i reached jansen's house at 7.45pm for the christmas eve's bbq! it seems that 90% of the gatherings is bbq :P haha. hmmm, the participants: weidin, jansen, kimsoon, jamie and gabriel. anyway, i thought the fire would have at least been started! but no.. they just began to arrange the charcoal! haha, i wanted to eat! haha, by the time the charcoal were all good, it was 8 plus. well, you could have guess the time we actually started eating the food! haha, anyway, the food is good, especially since i cook them! sambal stingray (: my favourite chicken chop! without honey ((: chicken wings, prawns, potato and otah. haha. didn't eat the potato and prawns :P otah, hmmm, one stick. oh man, i'm gonna gain weight alr! so much eating in one day!
hmmm, after eating, around 10 plus, we had a mini karaoke session! oh no, we are turning to the dark side! NO! we can't possibly be like huiting and go kbox-ing! NO! i must not be blinded by the evil kbox! haha, anyway, it's ENGLISH oldies! haha, reminds me of.. my younger days! the LD player! *sobs* we used to have tons of LDs with so many nice, unobtainable movies! but when it was spoilt, no one in singapore wanted to repair it! haha, so sad, we used to have karaoke sessions with my relatives once in awhile! (: english oldies and then-pop songs! haha, i think? i can faintly rmb. anyway, it was fun to sing, it reminded me of the past! haha, jansen is damn funny! i shall forever remember the song "dancing queen".
ooohh, then we played sparklers at the playground! haha. and after midnight, exchange of the christmas presents! haha, my presents to everyone were normal! i should have gotten hidden meanings presents like jamie & jansen and kimsoon. dammit. but thanks for the presents lah! weidin was the best lah, no hidden meanings! haha, a round pillow! (: haha, jamie & jansen gave me tanning oil! kimsoon's, the one that was the source of laughter for the remaining night. something ANYONE would know i wouldn't wear, better still wouldn't even occur to my mind to wear! hmmm, shall not say, quite embarrassing! i had no face to flash it out for them to see. haha, such memorable christmas presents! haha, anyway, after that, i cabbed home.

haha, 4 of us went to support samuel's campus superstar promotion gimmick! 4 is pretty pathetic, BUT WE ARE STRONG. hmmm, hahaha, weidin, weifang, huiting and me! lol. the drizzle was crap! dampen our already-flimsy posters! no frets, weifang and huiting will do somemore ((: i hate drizzles! my specs will get all drizzled-occupied! but not too worry, weidin's souvenir is here! lol, the one he bought me from thailand! is it a t-shirt? is it an umbrella? NO! it's SUPERcap!! (sounds like the superman thing!) it totally saved the day! cause it blocked the damn drizzle from covering up my eyesight! haha, that's not the only thing that blocked the stage! one - people who are really damn tall! two - people who are holding really large posters! three - people who are really damn tall and holding really large posters! can't really blame them, just that, i'm short! ):

this has been in my mind for a long time.. so here goes..
well, through a "battle" of an any idol contest, it often emerges with a winner. an idol. it's common knowledge that it's someone people idolize. it seems to be that the contest is a prestigous one, as when you win, you are the no. 1 in the country! for the idol himself/herself, they will be filled with lots of prestige. after all, they've just become the one that hundreds and thousands idolize!
What is prestige?
1. The level of respect at which one is regarded by others; standing.
2. A person's high standing among others; honor or esteem.
3. Widely recognized prominence, distinction, or importance
however, with all these so-called idol contests going on, the prestige has somehow greatly diminished. i mean, first, you have singapore idol, followed by the jue dui superstar, and there's a suria idol one too. these are pretty okay, cause one is the english idol, the another the chinese idol and the other for the malays. it's fair for all. BUT now, you have campus superstar competition popping out! superhost?!? ming xing ou xiang? and superband?!? and next year, there'll be another round of singapore idol?
is our small puny island filled of so many talents? is our nation really that talented? are we in need of so many idols? in no time at all, our island will be over-populated with idols.
hmmm, i wanna pinpoint something about the jue dui superstar. what's with the superfunky show? promoting all the top 10 contestants by hosting a show.. 10 people as hosts? haha, when i caught a few long seconds at the show, i thought to myself, "you've got to be kidding?" i mean, when you have a single guest or perhaps two, you have like OVERCROWDING ALERT! lol, it seems like the 10
and the superband.. it's pretty dumb. cause those who didn't make it through any of the above mentioned idol contests (in less kinder words, REJECTS), they can get their drummer/guitarist/keyboard-ist friends to join again? they will deluded that they will have other chance! another thing is that, why do you need a superband? you alr have live bands whereby the other groomed idols can play with? do you want to discover great guitarists/drummers/keyboard-ists? do we need the talents?
all in all, there's too many contests! do we need to search for that many idols? do singaporeans lack idols? are our idols REAL idols? (as in are they that good? or maybe the pool of talents in singapore is just too small, it's easy to top the rest!)
note that there are exceptions.. haha, there are few talents here and there.. lol, just like xinli mentioned! haha, samuel's good! :P

haha, i've concluded that shopping with huiting is unfruitful! haha, hmmm, i realized that i have lousy shopping companions! then again, why do i really care? normally, i don't need good shopping companions, unless i have to shop for one's birthday/christmas/other festive seasons presents! it's such a bother! firstly, i have to think of what to get for people! pretty difficult to know what will they like right? and i always seemed to be broke far too quickly, this question is troubling me, how am i suppose to get people good presents?
hmmm, as i keep shopping with huiting, my mind keeps coming up with names. names which i've forget to place on the mental "christmas-shopping" list! argh, i alr strike off a few on tuesday while shopping with my mother (due to budget constraint) and now.. i need to add more! and my mother banked in january's allowance to be received on the 25th! which is redundant! cause i need $$$ to buy gifts NOW!
okay, back to the statement, shopping with huiting is unfruitful! this is seriously true. we went out yesterday with the objective and mindset, to finish up our christmas presents and buying the stuff we needed! but sadly, we didn't! i don't get why is the shopping that unfruitful? haha, only one good thing, i got FREE COKE! hmmm, i really have to go out one more day to shop. and frankly, one day is seriously good time to start doing my work! i guess i have to bring my homework overseas. ): this is sad. and i told my mother that i'm almost done with my work? it's stupid, cause i haven't touched my work. damn, why does school start so early? and hopefully i can stop watching those comedies/cartoons in the morning! argh, pull out the tv cables/plugs! disconnect my internet! make me face my notes/tutorials for once in the holiday!! haha, other thing that worries me, my 2.4km run for napfa in january! the other time i ran with rebecca for judo pt, it was pathetic. i can't do 6 ROUNDS, how you expect me to run in a certain amount of time?!? the most i go for afternoon pe, haha.

went to get my jeans, what a pity, i really like the 501 cutting. got 599 instead, altered it OF COURSE, i'm like so short. ): haha. and my mother forced on me a pouch. waste $$$.
hmmm, the quest for my waterproof material windbreaker has finally started! the only bright side to this! (: hmmm, the windbreaker that i fell in love with the other time i was at centrepoint, it wasn't too ideal. ): cause of the wrist area. what a waste, and perhaps due to the fact that the size small was too big for me! haha, in the end, i bought another grey windbreaker instead, also reebok. hmmm, it's quite nice! (: it's coming with me next week to the melbourne trip! haha, bought a pair of shorts too! my mother bought a pair of slippers for herself, cause hers SOMEHOW got stolen (outside our house lah)?!? hahaha.
haha, bought my brother swimming shorts. cause he grew alot since the last time he went to swim. wahahaha. after that, accompany my mother shopping! ): took a break (i really needed one!) at marks and spencer! ate a very yummy cookie! then continue shopping with my mother, to find her new year clothes. went to celia loe? shit, i think the spelling wrong, hmmm, anyways, manage to buy herself a skirt!
lol, then went into robinsons! haha. *cheeky grin goes out to ...* hahaha. anyway, just went to buy a mug for myself. (my mother paid it) haha, got my brother a mug too! lol, FAT CAT! ((: suits him totally! as his christmas present. the guy at the counter was like, "there is 15% discount for OCBC card members!" duh, my mother was OCBC card member. haha, my mother being herself, went to buy MORE STUFF of course. haha, she bought wok and frying pan! cause just threw away some old ones. lol, then she went to buy forks and spoons and teaspoons! man, she paid at the 3 different counters! mugs at one, wok & frying pans at one, and forks & spoons & teaspoons at another! siao! haha.

hmmm, can't believe i actually went for the performance. it's really dumb, it's held at cristofori bishan's event hall, the size of it is extremely pathetic! and the others who played with me are like YOUNG kiddos. two of them are just err.. weird (can't get the right word for it), cause they laughed at anything each other said. absolutely anything, and they laughed like loud! haha, another reason why it was a waste of time, because i couldn't play it!! why? when i went to play on stage, it was like my less than 10 times seeing the score and playing it? argh, and after that, we needed to hear some other people play! mock my playing! ): hahaha.
haha, at least my day didn't end like shit because of that performance thing. went to meet nessa, jas, vonne, faya and wanwen. lol, at ps food court. didn't get a chance to eat the chicken thing ): what a waste! went to eat sweet and sour noodle? haha, i couldn't bare living another day full of regrets with my wallet! so tuesday, i dragged jansen down to change wallets for me! haha, why him? cause no one else was free! ): haha. cheryl and her harp people. jas and her changi ambassors thing! elaine leaving for melbourne! nessa and her taekwondo! bel and band! vonne and school! szehui and work! wanwen and her tuition (and so i thought/assumed)! haha, at bugis mrt station, i saw rebecca - the birthday girl! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (: and her mother too! haha, and you'll nv guess who i saw.. wanwen! she didn't have tuition like i assumed! damn. haha, then waited for jansen for half an hour! that idiot! haha, luckily he bought me durian milkshake (jamie's recommendation) (: it's nice to drink, jamie! hmmm, so yah, i thought the other wallet was $23, but it was actually $39! and realized that it wasn't that fantastic. haha, so began to ransack the whole wallet shop for a good one. (: hmmm, i finally got a nice wallet (to my expectation and liking)! no regrets! cost shall not be mentioned, before i get scolded. and people assuming that by buying it, i'm rich. i splurge on this, once-a-year affair okay.
hmmm, then kimsoon came to join us. weidin caught the flu bug. ): haha, so after much delays, we reached somerset. went to find huiting for awhile (so that she can be the second one to see my brand new wallet again). to show her that i changed the wallet she thinks it's ugly. HOWEVER, she told me that the new love of my life was UGLY. *heart shatters to a million pieces* how could she say such a thing! (exaggeration) haha, but i stood by my decision that this wallet i just trade-in was good! after all, huiting's taste is most certainly not my taste! what she goes for is NOT at all what i go for (:
wednesday, hmmm, nothing much. pt was a disappointment, no gym-ing! but i managed to run 3 rounds non-stop. don't laugh! haha, i've never been much of a runner, my stamina is like shit! so, considering how long since i last ran, it was improving.

haha, suppose to meet jas at amk polyclinic at 1.30pm, to get her mc. some people say she'll be early! in the end, when i reached amk at 1.50pm, i was pretty guilty, thinking i was late! then she msged me that she will reach there in half an hour! wth, in the end, she reached at 2.30pm! i spent my entire time at amk popular! oh my goodness, i could nv imagine myself spending time there! pretending that i needed a file, and tried looking for it! haha, i've never really been to a polyclinic. hmmm, this was somewhat an eye opener! wahahaha, waiting time was pretty long lah! did you know that the average waiting time in amk polyclinic for walk-ins jumped from 3hr 10mins to 3hr 42mins during the time we spent there? i think we came out after 3.30pm or later! haha, when the doctor saw the no. of ear holes she had, he was like "wow, you got so many holes, won't it get infected?" haha, i tried not to laugh sia! haha, then she cocked up some stupid excuse so that she won't get prescribed medicine! hahaha, super funny! haha, lol, it was fun talking to jas, she and her biasness towards nyp! haha.
then, after the interesting clinic experience, we went to shop for cheryl's birthday present! haha, we had alr planned long and hard for the gift! now, to find it! to find it at.. amk's pasar malam! (: we found smtg we didn't quite had in mind for! but it was pretty good! actually, it was excellent for cheryl! haha, perfect. we got her a float-like giraffe! haha, you know, those inflatable floats that you bring to the swimming pool, that kind of concept for the giraffe! hahaha, the giraffe was huge lah! haha, that was the main reason why we got it! so that, cheryl could walk around carrying it! hmmm, we named it! hahaha, cheryl's new pet - bobo the giraffe!

(which took forever to come and yet a wrong name was used and the name used was incorrectly spelt!) haha, dinner was quite good! besides the after-dinner talk! hahaha, we are updating each other! haha. most of them were good, besides the ridiculous one regarding me! elaine wong can just eat bananas until she die! once someone plant a name into the rest (which is totally untrue), there is the feeling of suffocation! why does the whole world use it? it's 100% wrong!
(: anyway, we got a slice of oreo cheesecake for cheryl, tiramisu cheese for nessa and aunty amy's blahblahblah for jas! the name is too long and hard to rmb! haha, got them from cartel! 50% discount for the cakes after 9pm! :P cartel gave us candles! haha, nessa and jas were pretty shocked that we gave it to them! haha, well, ahope all three of them are happy! hmmm, jansen is so dumb! he sat on his specs the night before and it broke! hahaha, so he went with kimsoon to make his specs yesterday. hmmm, looks pretty good on him! when i got there, he was wearing expired contacts lah! damn funny. (: cause the specs weren't ready yet.hmmm, then we took 162, wanting to go to far east, in search for my new wallet! we thought that there will be a loop, so it will take a freaking long time to go there. so we dropped after one stop, and realized that it takes the same amount of time! stupid jansen, made me waste 45 cents! 45 cents is still money leh! after waiting for a superbly long time, 132 came! dropped at far east, walked to orchard station and made our way to bugis. hmmm, we had a feeling that huiting was working around there! it was super irritating, the bloody squeezing! argh, no wonder i hate crowded places. the body contact with a total stranger! and the assholes who pushes like no one's business! haha, FINALLY, we reached bugis! tried searching for huiting! but, gave up after 3 mins.
hahaha, then we went to the wallet shop! (: i got my new wallet! but i have so doubts about it now! later on, we met huiting and huiting says the scorpion is damn ugly! hmmm, i should have gotten the other brown, thinner, smaller (and cheaper) one! and i realized that it's really quite big! bigger than my old one, which i felt that it was alr big! *regrets* oh man, this wallet thing is driving me a little nuts! the more i think, the more regretful i feel! i feel like buying the thinner $23 wallet now! hmmm, shall get weidin, jansen, kimsoon and jamie to share for my christmas present! *hint* (please make them read this entry. please make them read this entry!)
haha, that stupid jansen and kimsoon tried to make me do smtg i would nv do! and luckily, my will is strong, i perserved! (: anyway, we had a great dinner and had lots of fun at the arcade! haha, spent on $5! (: daytona is still my love! haha, then we went to find huiting, to go home with her! she's irritating! she made me take bus! oh my goodness, the bus was definitely a wrong choice! mrt would have been so much faster! after dropping 851 near marymount road, me and jansen waited for like so freaking LONG before our buses came! it was really really long! another 851 passed leh! hahaha, had a pretty long talk! hahaha, quite interesting!
hmmm, today was a real eye-opener for the 3 of us. it was real disappointing for us. it wasn't really a good thing. then again, it is good that we know it now, than to continue a lie. (: all i can say is, expect the unexpected.

haha, i finally went for trng at 11.30! haha, saturday trng is fun! (: besides no need to shift mats, and the place is air-conditioned! haha, i don't know how to describe! i'm in love with my two-arm shoulder throw (although randoori, it will be quite difficult to execute it)! i shall follow shiyun and learn uchimata! (: try lah hor, but everytime i do it, damn lousy lah, always hit wrong places! (but not as bad as jasmine wee)
haha, i watched "a twist of fate" at the 4pm matinee slot. hmmm, i sure enjoyed it! (: adrian pang can sing! the cast had great voices! there were lots of puns and the sense of humour was there! the show is full of surprises! (: haha, one word to sum up this musical "nice"! certainly enjoy this more than snow queen.
after the show, went to somerset! to meet jansen, weidin, kimsoon, gavin for awhile! wanted to have dinner with them, but by the time we could find a place, too late le! i tell you, EVERYWHERE IS FILLED WITH PEOPLE! my goodness, super hard to find places to eat! anywhere is crowded! :P ended up eating bk! SORRY i pangseh the guys! cause i ate with wanwen and nessa! haha, tried tempting wanwen into eating burger! but failed. haha, in the end, never go look for wallet! walked around taka! trying to find a place for desert! lol. haha, sorry pangseh them halfway! :P stupid wanwen, must be gao-ing with my nessa now!! ):

haha, suppose to meet at 3pm at bedok interchange. but i left my house at what? 2.25pm. wth, but i managed to reach there at 3.07pm! the mrt was on my side! for once (: haha, but it is only later i realized why the bloody mrt shouldn't have been on my side! i should have been later! then i no need to buy stuff from ntuc! the drinks! hahaha, then at bedok interchange, we realized that 401 service is on sat, sun and public hols! we took 197! but then, it sucks, it is so bloody freaking far from east coast. bastard bus driver lied to us! then the 6 of us (jeslin, qinqi, kimsoon, shiyun, jacq and me!) had to split into two cabs! boy, it was super far! but the cabfare was only $3? wahahaha. the food was like quite a problem! but all was well. in the end, it was quite settled! i saw the sunset at bedok jetty! damn nice! one side of the jetty! the clouds was rainbow-ed! red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and abit of faint purple!! ((: damn nice! and the other side, sunset! but wth, i didn't have my camera! )): WHY! but well, at least i was able to see and enjoy it? :P
